REMEMBERING LICIA RAMOS

Remembering Licia

The world lost an amazing, talented, and courageous woman when Licia Ramos passed away on June 23, 2018. Licia was a loving mother, daughter, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend and inspired everyone who knew her with her compassion, wit, sense of humor, and desire to make a difference.

Licia was multi-talented in a variety of areas. She was a highly successful executive in the banking and media industries, where she led teams and coached people — guiding them through their careers.

People admired Licia’s artistic talents, and after leaving the corporate world she developed Beaded Statements, a beautiful collection of bead embroidered jewelry that her customers cherished — items made with the loving care, sense of detail, and perfection that made her goods unique and a true work of art. Many of her pieces were displayed and sold in shows, galleries, and studios. She also taught beading at Cancer Support Community Pasadena (“CSCP”), where many people facing cancer have the benefit of this meditative and healing art form. Licia collaborated on her designs with her loving husband, Marco Ramos, a commercial and industrial artist, who sculpts miniatures as a hobby.

That same care that she gave to jewelry making went into her cooking. She learned to cook from her mother, Rosa Savoia, and made delectable meals for her friends and family that rivaled any you’d find in the finest restaurants. Licia enjoyed sharing recipes and passing on her cooking talents to her beloved daughter, Megan Donovan. One of the greatest joys in Licia’s life was being a grandmother to Megan’s adorable son, affectionately called Baby Jack. Jack would smile whenever Licia entered a room and was enthralled by the warmth, spunk, and kindness of Grandma Licia.

Licia’s friends and family will miss her dearly but they have been truly blessed by the opportunity to have known such an extraordinary woman.

CSCP is grateful for Licia’s selfless volunteerism, her generous support, and her warmth and friendship. CSCP sends our love and deepest condolences to Licia’s family.
